Description

The U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) hereby provides notification that it intends to award a sole source contract in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, only one responsible source will satisfy our agency requirement, to National Academy of Science to provide a wide range of scientific expertise in support of GAO's independent evaluation of economically significant proposed final rules under the Truth in Regulating Act. This contract is contingent upon the appropriation and availability of funds. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation will be issued. However, all proposals received within thirty (30) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
