- Description
- Sources sought for Laundry Equipment. This is a market survey to identify potential sources to provide and install laundry equipment to support the needs of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other Federal Government agencies. This includes providing installation and technical support to facilities throughout the continental U.S. as well as Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The agency anticipates a need for the following types of individual equipment: washers/extractors, dryers, folders/crossfolders, spreader-feeders, ironers, stackers, continuous batch washers, conveyors, small piece folders, lint filter/collectors, cart washers, steam tunnels, folding stations, and air compressors. Other related equipment may also be required. BIDS/OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. The VA intends to issue a request for proposals for multiple-award indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contracts. Under that RFP, it is anticipated that firm fixed prices would be negotiated for the equipment items, with installation prices to be negotiated case-by-case for each order. Complete laundry systems will not be purchased under the resulting contracts; instead, a new RFP will be issued. Interested companies are asked to supply the following information: 1. A listing of the types of individual laundry equipment you can provide. Please provide product literature, including any published performance specifications. 2. What are your standard commercial terms and conditions for: a. Payment; b. Warranty; c. Delivery, including time from placement of order and whether you will accept orders for FOB destination. 3. Does your firm employ more than 500 people? 4. Is your firm certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) as minority owned, woman owned, Vietnam veteran owned, or HUBzone? 5. Are your products 100% made in the U.S.? If not, what percentage is made overseas, and what are the countries of origin? Responses must be submitted to VA National Acquisition Center, National Contracts Service (90N-C-DD), Attn: Eric W. Lee Sr., P.O. Box 76, Hines, IL 60141 no later than February 5, 2001. Questions may be referred to Mr. Lee at (708) 786-5186 or to Ms. Pat McKay at (708) 786-5251.
