Description

The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Vega Industries of New Zealand under the authority of FAR 6.302. The contractor shall provide and install one oscillating sector range light at Diego Garcia. The light shall have an operating life span of 20 years and be visible and usable to the mariner, in daylight, for a minimum useable viewing range of 9.5 nautical miles. Nighttime range shall be unlimited. Supporting structure shall be of design, construction and rigidity to be capable of maintaining the light in winds of up to 35 knots sustained, with gusts up to 50 knots. Installation shall utilize solar panels with storage batteries as its primary source of power. The power system must provide at least 4 hours of continuous daylight operations and be capable of remote operation.
