Description

VA Puget Sound intends to negotiate a sole source applied and demonstration/validation research contract with the University of Michigan, Biostatistic Department. The proposed contractor will perform genetic mapping to identify susceptibility genes for schizophrenia. Tasks include data cleaning, map construction, linkage, subsetted and stratified linkage analysis, and association mapping of the genes of approximately 600 individuals. No solicitation document exists; this notice is for information purposes only and is not a request for bids. Alternative contractors will be considered only if responding with clear and convincing evidence that they possess the qualifications and experience necessary to meet the Research Department's approved protocol. Identified credentials include but are not limited to experience in statistical methodology and application of linkage analysis, statistical mapping, methods for genetic mapping of complex disease, and methods for analysis of radiation hybrid data. Responses must be in writing and must be received within 10 calendar days of this notice. The determination to open competition based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
