Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, 4.1.6. Reliability and Maintainability and System Safety Competency, Patuxent River, MD plans to increase the level of effort under the current contract, N00421-96-C-5289 with Mantech Systems Engineering Company. This notice is for information purposes only. Mantech Systems Engineering Company will continue to provide engineering and administrative support for reliability, maintainability, testability, quality assurance, configuration management and control, diagnostic, and system safety analyses during the design, development and production cycles of Naval aircraft acquisition. The purpose of this increase in the level of effort under the current contract is to provide the capacity needed to maintain current contract initiatives. Provide flexibility for anticipated additional support requirements and provide sufficient additional capacity to allow the continuation of services through the end of the originally intended period of performance. The increase in the level of effort will sustain analytical efforts from April 1, 2000 through 30 June 2001 until solicitation N00421-01-R-0062 for the follow on contract can be competitively awarded. The requested level of effort for this acquisition is estimated at 63,000 labor hours. The Government's minimum need for the continuation of effort can only be accomplished reasonably and without impairing continued support through the award of this level of effort increase. Only Mantech has the technical documents and key personnel necessary to continue the support services currently being performed. It is not possible for any other potential source to become familiar enough with the tasking to sustain this workload without a break in services. Failures to award this contract will seriously restrict 4.1.6's ability to respond to our sponsors' needs during the recompetition. These are continuing tasks and are time sensitive.
