- Description
- D -- Maintenance and Usage of Software. The U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) Water Resources Discipline (WRD) anticipates entering into non-competitive negotiations with Computer Associates International of Herndon, Virginia, to procure discipline wide Ingres and Disspla software maintenance for all licenses currently installed on WRD computers. The Ingres software to be maintained includes: Ingres II DBMS; Ingres II Knowledge Management; Ingres II Object Management; Ingres II Query & Reporting Tools; Ingres II Server Net; Ingres II OpenRoad Development; Ingres II VisionPro; Ingres II Embedded SQL (C, Fortran); and Ingres II Replicator. The Disspla software to be maintained is all software that is currently licensed on Sun Solaris and Data General DG/UX until the end of FY2001. Based on the information available at this time, the Government considers the required software maintenance to be sole source as the software to be maintained is proprietary. Therefore, only licensed agents of Computer Associates International, Inc. will be acceptable. The anticipated period of performance for this contract is a base year plus four one-year option periods. The contract will provide for the following: (1) discipline wide Ingres software maintenance to include new software versions, updates, patches, and documentation of each supported platform on which the existing software is installed; (2) Ingres technical support via telephone to WRD users; (3) one set of software releases/updates/patches on the required media for each hardware platform; and the key code for use of the Disspla software. Firms who believe they can provide the required software maintenance services are invited to submit an affirmative response within 15 days of the publication date of this notice in accordance with note number 22. Responses should include full technical information on the vendor in such detail to enable the Government to confirm the submitters capabilities. All such responses will be evaluated in order to determine whether that firm has full knowledge of the USGS's requirement for maintenance of the above software in accordance with the minimum mandatory requirements. An affirmative response shall, at a minimum, include company literature, brochures, and other such information corresponding to the required services which demonstrates a bona fide ability to provide the required services. This notice is for informational purposes only. REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) IS NOT AVAILABLE. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement. Subject to the availability of funds. See Note 22.***** MMMM
