- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is collecting technical summary papers of existing commercial software with the capability to support a Technical Data Integrated Maintenance System for USN/USMC KC/C-130T aircraft. The Government is in its initial market research phase to determine whether industry currently has available commercial software which will support the following capabilities with minimal change, if any, to the software: a) To be used in/through a Local Site/Web-page environment. b) Must be able to access, retrieve, and view Essential Mission Data Locally on Site/Via Web: 1) Government Digitized Maintenance Publications, 2) Computer Based Training (CBT's), 3) Technical Directives (TD's), 4) Interim Rapid Action Changes (IRAC's), 5) Airframe Changes/Bulletins (AFC/AFB's), 6) Safety Bulletins, 7) Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO's), 8) Maintenance Manuals (Illustrated Parts Breakdowns and Wire Run Manuals), 9) Other technical material and data updates. c) Allow authorized users to input/have access to maintenance processes and procedures not covered by the Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIM's) within a central database. d) Have an established customer support system to address questions via the Internet. e) Must be able to communicate to multiple entities through the Internet. f) Must be able to transfer digital images and display through the Internet/Real Time Collaborating and Conferencing Technology. Respondents to this Sources Sought Notice are requested to submit a brief five-page description of their capabilities, experiences, and history to Chief Matt Williams at e-mail address, williamsMB2@navair.navy.mil, no later than 17 January 2001. It is the Government's intent to randomly select 15 respondents and provide them with access to the installation (if required) for the presentation. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the respondents who decide to attend this limited industry day. For those respondents who cannot attend this event, there will be a follow-on opportunity for those respondents to demonstrate their software at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD. The Government is under no obligation to contact any of the respondents concerning their submissions. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award (or awards), or be responsible for any monies expended by the interested parties in support of this inquiry for the aforementioned effort. Once the final requirement is defined, an acquisition strategy will be determined and formal notification of the Government's intent will be announced via CBD notice.
