Description

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), 3601 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ intends to negotiate sole source with Siemens Medical Systems, 13073 E. 166th St., Cerritos, CA 90702-2201 for a cooperative (Shared) service contract to provide back up maintenance and repair support for Siemens manufactured Angiostar PLUS with Polytron TOP Cath Lab system. The contract shall be for a base year + 4 option years. The contract shall include the complete cost of training one SAVAHCS biomedical engineer (base year only) on the system, parts support, quality assurance reviews, telephone and on-site second response support, customer service documentation, diagnostic software, customer service bulletins, etc. NAICS code #811219 applies to this procurement. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received on or before 1/26/01 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
