Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into negotiations on a sole source basis with Advanced Fabricating Machinery, Kingston, NH. The Contractor will be required to provide a precision electro hydraulic bending machine with basic accessories, tooling, training and maintenance. The requesting authority for the bending machine is the V-22 Program at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ. The bending machine will be procured using a Request for Quotation (RFQ). Requirements needed to be demonstrated prior to final delivery are: Meets a 2% ovality on all bends for all sizes. Allowable wrinkle height = 0. Max scratch thickness is 2% of wall thickness. Allowable chatter marks = 0. Twelve (12) foot max tube length capability. Bending machine shall have interlocking tooling. Computer driven machine for repeatability, i.e., can take factory bend data and make precise replacement tubes. The bending machine shall bend Titanium tubing in various wall thickness and tube OD's. The Government intends to procure as a Small Business Set Aside. Small Business Set Aside SIC Code 3441 is applicable. The Government is anticipating a Firm Fixed Priced type contract. Estimated delivery date is Mar 2001. RFQ No. N68335-01-Q-0009 will be issued approximately 16 January 2001. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government to restrict the requirement to a limited competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
