Description
Licensed, registered Architect/Engineering firm to provide all necessary A/E services required to prepare all contract documents and drawings to Upgrade the ER/Admitting Area at the VA New York Harbor Health Care System, Brooklyn Campus, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY, Building 1, Ground Floor. The scope of work for this project 630-01-401, includes but is not limited to the following: upgrade and expand existing ER/Admitting area (7000 S.F.). Approximately 11,000 S.F. will be renovated under this project to address three major areas: patient privacy and architectural and mechanical deficiencies. The area must be reconfigured to allow for efficiencies in access to ER/Admitting Area, patient stabilization and isolation rooms, storage and utility rooms, and clerical and nursing areas. The renovation will include upgrading the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire protection and security systems. The mechanical system must provide a new HVAC system that addresses/corrects ventilation and HVAC problems. The existing AHU is undersized and does not provide adequate cooling and requires constant maintenance. the A/E must provide all services necessary for the preparation of a complete design development for construction documents and period services. The work must include verification of existing as-built drawings, design development, preparation of contract documents and specifications, detailed cost estimates, and C.I.H. services for an asbestos survey-report. A complete contract includes drawings and specifications for demolition, architecture, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems for construction as well as asbestos abatement drawings and documents. Construction period services must include submittal reviews, RFI, site visits/inspections, as built mark for contractors markup. All work must comply with VA design criteria, NFPA, electrical codes, and local building codes. Completion time is 100 caledar days and estimated construction cost range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000.
