- Description
- The VA Boston Healthcare System has a requirement for a Professional Architect/Engineering firm to provide design services for Project 523-333 Consolidate Outpatient Oncology. The A/E shall provide all architectural, engineering, demolition, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design, Industrial Hygiene services and estimating services, necessary to completely design the upgrades to support areas for the clinical space located in Building One 1st floor at the Boston campus of the Boston Healthcare System. The scope of work will also entail renovations to areas that support the consolidated Outpatient Oncology, including, Outpatient Pharmacy, patient waiting area, transportation services, and handicap bathrooms in the vicinity of the Outpatient Oncology area. All design shall be in accordance with any applicable codes, VA Guidelines and master specifications. A/E shall provide field investigation including a complete site survey to evaluate existing conditions, Design Development, Cost Estimates, Construction Documents, and Construction Period Services. A/E shall meet with staff and offer different design options; provide coordination, review and consultation services with meetings through completion of the entire design project, A/E shall prepare schematics, design development construction documents and contract specifications. Design reviews will be at 30%, 70% and 100%. Design review documents shall include drawings using AutoCAD 14 on 3.5" disks. Architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings shall clearly note impact on or changes to existing building systems and utilities. A/E is to develop construction-phasing requirements to insure safety and provide the most efficient plan for construction with minimal disruption for healthcare operations. The A/E shall be responsible for providing professional Industrial Hygiene services to perform an asbestos survey, investigations, bulk sampling, asbestos removal specifications and drawings, monitoring in appropriate areas and construction period services. A/E shall provide accurate As-Built Drawings. NAICS Code is 541330. This is not restricted to Small Business. The Construction Range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This is not a request for proposal. Area of consideration is limited to a 200-mile radius from the VA Boston Healthcare System, 150 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130-4893. All interested responsible and qualified firms within the geographic limitation shall submit two (2) copies of their SF 254 and SF 255s to the Contracting Officer, (90C), Building Nine, Room 413, VA Boston Healthcare System, 150 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130-4893 to be received no later than CLOSE OF BUSINESS (4:30 p.m. local time) on January 23, 2001. Award is Subject to the availability of funds. This is not a request for proposal. See Numbered Note 24.
