- THIS IS A LARGE, INDUSTRIAL BATTERY FOR 4K & 6K ELEC FORKLIFTS WHICH HAVE A SPECIAL "EE" RATING FOR SAFE USE IN POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUA- TIONS. WHEN ISSUING THE SOLICITATION, PLEASE INDICATE IT IS FOR EE RATED FORKLIFTS. THE BATTERY MUST ALSO BE FOB ORIGIN (NOT DESTINATION). ALSO, THE BATTERY MUST BE DRY (I.E., WITHOUT ACID) AND MUST BE SHIPPED DRY TO THE DEPOT. THE NSN REPRESENTS A DRY BATTERY. THE CONNECTORS MUST BE "SB" TYPE. THE CABLE POSITION IS "B" AND THE LEAD LENGTH IS THIRTY INCHES. THE WEIGHT IS CRUCIAL IN AN ELECTRIC FORKLIFT SINCE THIS ONE-TON BATTERY SERVES AS A COUNTERWEIGHT FOR THE VEHICLE. IF TOO LIGHT, THE VEHICLE COULD TIP OVER. THE WEIGHT OF THE BATTERY SHOULD BE A MINIMUM OF 2341 LBS TO A MAXIMUM OF 2665 LBS WITH ELECTROLYTE. THESE WEIGHTS, FROM THE VEHICLE TECH MANUAL CALLS OUT THE WEIGHT WITH ELECTROLYTE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS BOUGHT AND SHPD W/O. Quantity 25 each. NSN 6140-01-151-2718. FOB Origin. Dry charge battery.
