Description

The Government intends to solicit Raytheon Systems Co. in Marlboro, MA to incorporate Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) capability to the Secure, Mobile, Anti-Jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (SMART-T). This research and development effort will be performed over a 48 month period on a Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF) basis. The contractor's efforts will include the design/development/testing of a SMART-T AEHF terminal upgrade, fabrication/installation of three AEHF retrofit kits and updating of logistics documentation. Raytheon is the developer/manufacturer of the SMART-T terminal and award of this effort will be placed as a modification to the Low-Rate-Initial Production/Full-Scale Production Contract No. DAAB07-96-C-A757. The Government does not possess the technical data or a form fit and function (F3) drawing package on the terminal and is therefore unable to provide such data to any prospective offeror. This action will be pursued on a sole source basis IAW FAR 6.302-1 "Only One Responsible Source". See Note 22.
