- Description
- The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is conducting a Market Investigation (MI) to identify commercially available lightweight, rapidly deployable SHF tri-band satellite terminals in transit case configurations. This MI does not constitute a request for proposal (RFP) or signify an intention to enter into a contract. Industry comments are solicited concerning the availability of transit case configured satellite terminals for a Follow-On Down-sized Deployable Satellite Terminal (DDST). The intent of this initiative is to replace currently fielded DDST terminals with terminals possessing high reliability, an open architecture, lighter system weight and reduced transit configuration volume, and rapid set-up/teardown times. The Government requires the system to implement an L-band intermediate frequency utilizing block frequency converters. System assembly and disassembly will not require the use of any tools. The DDST terminal will operate in the X, C and Ku SHF frequency bands. The DDST must also have a migration path supporting eventual operation in commercial and military Ka-band as those space segments become available. This announcement is NOT a request for purchase. This is a sources sought announcement and does not commit the Government to award a contract under the above listed terms, nor is the Government responsible to pay for samples or information received. A cutoff date of 8 December 2000 is established for the submission of responses. Interested parties are invited to review the Follow-On DDST Industry Information Sheet that is available upon request from stillerc@jotc.com. E-mail responses are required.
