- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command Pacific (MLCPAC) intends to contract for the design of USCGC POLAR SEA/STAR and installation of equipment for POLAR SEA with the option to contract for the installation of equipment for the POLAR STAR. The installation work will be accomplished at the cutters' homeport at Pier 36 or 37 in Seattle, WA. The request for proposal (RFP) will be issued on or about 4 December 2000. The design effort for POLAR SEA shall start after award of contract. The period of performance for POLAR SEA_s installation work is tentatively scheduled from 17 September 2001 through 16 November 2001. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. This procurement is issued under the Small business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further information concerning the STLP call the OSDBU at 1-800-532-1169.
