- Description
- The United States Marine Corps has a requirement for procurement and delivery of 703 Extendable Boom Forklifts (EBFL), contractor logistics support, technical manuals, and operator/maintainer training. This effort will be pursued as an unrestricted, commercial item purchase, pursuant to guidance set forth at FAR 2.1, which provides the standard definition of a commercial item. Standard practices for "Acquisition of Commercial Items", as set forth at FAR 12.203, will be applied throughout the process. Additionally, the contractor shall provide the requisite program management and logistics support to ensure that delivery schedules, performance requirements and overall supportability of the EBFL is accomplished as set forth in the contract. The EBFL program has been initiated to produce and deploy a commercial forklift that will fulfill the requirements specified in the Required Operational Capability (ROC) document. The EBFL is a replacement for the existing MLULL 10K 10,000-pound forklift, which has reached the conclusion of its service life. Essential EBFL mission requirements include the necessity to clear landing zones of supplies and equipment, and to load/unload combat vehicles, aircraft, and ISO containers throughout the theater of operation.// It is anticipated that a draft RFP for the EBFL procurement will be issued 1st Quarter of Fiscal Year 2001. Contract award is projected for 2nd Quarter of Fiscal Year 2001.// All future information relative to this procurement, including draft documentation, and release of the Formal RFP document (file download MS Word), will be made available to industry through the MARCORSYSCOM website: http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/Oppor. It is requested that vendors interested in this procurement submit the following information to Mrs. Peggy Smith at SmithPL@mcsc.usmc.mil: Company name, address, size of business, POC, telephone/facsimile number and e-mail address. A list of those responding to this announcement will be posted on the EBFL website.//
