Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, intends to purchase on a sole source basis 12 CPS Zone Pressure Alarms (ZPA). These items will be purchased on a sole source basis from New World Associates, Inc., 301 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. These ZPAs are required for shipboard installation as part of the Shipboard Collective Protection System (CPS) Backfit Program. To ensure that all ships covered by the CPS Backfit Program are installed with a common, maintainable, and logistically supported ZPA, all ZPAs must be new generation units. Drawings for the ZPAs are available at http://www.nswc.navy.mil/supply, under Synopsis N00178-01-Q-3006, Drawings. Prototypes of the improved ZPA were manufactured by New World and installed as part of the first two installations conducted under the CPS Backfit Program. For the ZPA to correctly integrate with other ship systems within the CPS Backfit Program, it must be manufactured to appropriate standards. As New World constructed the prototype ZPAs, New World has established component availability for these systems. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures -- reference Quote # N00178-01-Q-3006. All responsible sources may submit a faxed quote which shall be considered by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, Virginia 22448, Attn: Code SD13, Bldg 183, Room 106, (540) 653-6810.
