Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Combat Support Logistics Equipment Directorate, is currently seeking qualified sources capable of providing a commercial, or non-developmental product solution to the requirements for a Rapid Deployment Kitchen (RDK). The goal of the Directorate is to substantiate a qualified vendor base, possessing the expertise and capabilities to deliver a complete "turn-key" field feeding solution that will meet the operational requirements for expeditiously feeding battalion size units (e.g., 650+ Marines). The solution should provide for a self-contained feeding capability, employing commercial products (e.g., convection ovens, refrigerators, griddles, etc.), to the maximum extent possible. Additional capabilities highly desired include: Ability to store and prepare "B-Ration" units sufficient to meet the operational requirement; allow for ease of transportation with current tactical lift capability; employ design modularity; operate on commercial power and with tactical generators; and allow for connectivity to commercial water sources. Additionally, interest is focused on design alternatives to the current International Standards Organization containerized shelter (ISO 8 x 8 x 20), using innovative technologies and providing for ease of maintenance and overall functionality respective of the operational requirement. This RDK was previously advertised under a sources sought by the U.S. Army Materiel Command, Natick Contracting Division (May / July 2000). That action has been cancelled, and the Unites States Marine Corps, MARCORSYSCOM, is now the cognizant agency for this requirement. The Marine Corps is interested in pursuing a course of action that leverages commercial capabilities and industry experience in the formulation of their requirement. Currently, the purchase description is undergoing edit to reflect desired performance outcomes, vice "build-to" thresholds. As such, industry input to this effort is essential. Firms possessing the expertise to accomplish such a requirement are invited to submit their capabilities statement, enclosing product literature, past performance information, current GSA schedule contract information and pricing (if applicable), and any other information directly addressing the firm's ability to meet the aforementioned needs. Interested firms are requested to respond NLT 1500 hrs, 17 November 2000, identifying their business size and providing a corporate point of contact. Following initial assessment of vendor capabilities, additional information will be published on the MARCORSYSCOM web site at: http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/Oppor.htm. Interested sources should respond to: (U. S. Mail address) Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, ATTN: CTQ (Mr. Ben Zaslow) 2033 Barnett Avenue, Suit 315, Quantico VA. 22134-5010. FEDEX or UPS deliveries should be sent to Commander, Ben Zaslow CTQ 3BZ, MARCORSYSCOM, 3041A McCawley Ave, Quantico VA 22134-5010. Any questions regarding the submission of materials should be addressed to Mr. Ben Zaslow, 703.784.5822 x223. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS.
