Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation USZA95-00-T-0003 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ), due by 2:00PMest, 6 Nov 2000. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect rhrough Federal Acquisition Circular 97-20. The item to be procured is a Mission Processor Battery, MAP-9352, PN:176A911-4, Qty: 75 ea. to be delivered as soon as available to Boeing Sikorsky Aircraft Support (BSAS), Ft. Campbell, KY, FOB -- Origin. Packaging shall be consistent with customary commercial practices to ensure safe delivery to destination. It is the Government's intent to award a sole source contract for this item to Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc., C & Porter Streets, Box 47, Joplin, MO 64802. Eagle-Picher is the only known source for this battery. They retain all proprietary data and rights to the item; therefore, it is not in the Government's best interest to attempt to have this item re-engineered at this time; however, all proposals submitted by the closing date of 6 Nov 2000 will be considered. The following provisions and clauses apply to this acquisition: 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items; 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items; 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required To Implement Statutes Or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items; and 252.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes Or Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items.
