- Description
- Subcontract Entire IETM (Subcontractor or UDLP tool) United Defense L.P. (UDLP) has been awarded a contract from the Army Office of Program Management (OPM), Crusader, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ for the development of the next generation Self Propelled Howitzer (SPH). The purpose of this Request For Information (RFI) is to identify potential subcontractors to support United Defense with the U.S. Army Crusader Program. The Crusader is comprised of a self-propelled howitzer, a tracked resupply vehicle, and a wheeled resupply vehicle. The requester wishes to identify a subcontractor to develop a Class 4/5 Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) for maintenance activities on Crusader vehicles. The effort will include use of a subcontractor IETM authoring system or an IETM authoring system chosen and supported by United Defense. This effort will include analysis and conversion of logistics support data, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings, fault management information, replacement parts and special tools lists, and associated maintenance information to create an advanced, integrated technical support system. The subcontractor will define the necessary logic to convert task sequences into interactive sessions for performing maintenance activities, create illustrations from base drawings, and partition maintenance information for organizational level support activities The subcontractor will also participate in efforts to design both user and system interactions, coordinate efforts with team management, perform system integration, test and validate IETM content and functionality, and deliver a final Class 4/5 IETM. An Integrated Product Development approach will be used to develop the IETM. The IETM shall be validated through user test and laboratory demonstration. Please provide an electronic, two-page, white paper response on what your company has done and brief strategy on how your company can assist UDLP and the Crusader Project. The response is due no later than close of business on November 15, 2000. All responses and questions will be forwarded (via email) to Nick Scatena at Nicolas_Scatena@UDLP.com
