Description
The US Army CECOM is seeking potential source(s) for a noise generator/modem test set to meet the following requirements. The Modem Test Set shall provide a calibrated Carrier to Noise Density (C/kT) by combining the output of an internal noise source with the output of either an internal and external modulated signal source. The modulated signal shall include Binary Phase Shift Keying/Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (BPSK/OQPSK), 8 PSK, and 16 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM). The C/kT readings shall be determined by adjusting the carrier level based on the desired ratio of Energy per Bit to Noise power density (Eb/No) and data rate. The resultant signal plus noise output is intended for Modem testing. The Modem Test Set shall be designed for bench operation and rack mount on a standard 19" rack and contain all necessary circuitry to perform any operational calibration. The Modem Test Set shall be able to meet the following performance requirements: -- Accept 50 to 180 MHz RF signal over a range of +15 dBm to -15 dBm, -- Support Data rate from 75 bits per second (bps) to 45 Megabits per second (Mbps), -- Select C/kT measurements from 18.0 dB to 93.0 dB with 0.1 dB resolution and accuracy, -- Select Eb/No measurements from 0 dB to 20.0 dB with 0.1 dB resolution and accuracy. The Modem Test Set shall include a control and monitoring capability can be accessed from either the local (front panel) and remote interface (RS-422 and RS-449). The Modem Test Set shall contain Built in Test (BITE) circuitry capable of fault detection and isolation to the LRU/circuit card level without external test equipment. Contractor may be required to provide 2 units, on loan, for pre-contractual testing purposes. The government envisions a future need to procure approximately 200 units over multi years beginning in 2nd QTR FY01. Any interested sources with suitable equipment must send technical information to include, but not be limited to, detailed product specification, available test data, schedule availability and cost information, NLT 30 November 2000, to Bldg. 209, ATTN: AMSEL-RD-ST-SE-ST (Johnny Ng), Ft Monmouth, NJ 07703. Contractor shall include information on any open DOD contractual vehicles for the subject equipment, to include GSA schedules. All questions shall address to Johnny Ng, (732) 532-6251, or to Email address Johnny.ng@mail1.monmouth.army.mil.
