- Description
- This is a Notice of Contract Action for the Satellite Communications Ground Multi-Band Terminal (GMT). Reference previous Requests for Information (RFI), Record Number: 2321PR580001, Title: Satellite Communication Terminals Request for Information, CBD Issue date: 04/09/99; Satellite Communications Ground Multi-band Terminal, published 04 May 00; as amended 12 May 00, Satellite Communications Ground Multi-band Terminal. POC: Mr.Joe Zimmerman, Contracting Officer, (781) 271-6279. The MILSATCOM Terminals Program Office, ESC/MCP, at the Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom AFB, MA intends to release a Solicitation/Request for Proposal to acquire GMTs. The GMT is a tactical quad-band ground terminal for use with Defense Satellite Communications System, Wideband Gapfiller System, and commercial satellite systems such as International Telecommunications Satellites. The terminal will operate in X, C, Ku, and Ka frequency bands. The terminal will provide dual hub communications capabilities to support increasing bandwidth requirements for deployed Air Force units. The terminal will be provided in two configurations: a transit case and a transportable platform (ECV-HMMWV mounted). The terminal will be interoperable with existing Department of Defense SHF satellite communications terminals and the Integrated Communications Access Package. RFP documents are posted on the Hanscom Electronic Request for Proposal Bulletin Board (HERBB) (http://herbb.hanscom.af.mil/). Potential Offerors are instructed to periodically check HERBB for document updates. The contract will be a seven-year contract (cost-plus-award-fee for development efforts; firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity for production, for up to 200 GMTs; with optional firm-fixed-price options for low rate initial production of GMTs; with Labor-Hour, Time-and Materials, and Cost Reimburseable line items for Special Studies, Analyses, and Miscellaneous Task Requirements. The U.S. NAICS Code for this acquisition is 33429. Respondents to this Synopsis should identify whether they are a large or small business and provide their company's name, address, telephone number, and a Point of Contact (POC). Any proprietary information submitted should be identified as such. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The government will not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of information in response to this synopsis. This synopsis does not constitute a commitment to order on the part of the government. The Ombudsman role is to hear concerns, issues, and recommendations and communicate these to the appropriate government personnel. The Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality if desired.
