- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commere, NOAA intends to procure for full maintenance support of a Twin Commander aircraft, Model AC-690A, serial number 11153, FAA registration N53RF. The aircrafts' primary mission as a survey platform for the National Weather Service's, National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center in Chanhassen, Minnesota, shall require the contractor to ensure minimal "out of service" or down time" during the months of February, March, and April. The airframe has 11,300 hours since new engines have 2800 hours since overhaul. The aircraft meets the FAA Type Certificate Data Sheet No. 2A4. NOAA's Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) in Tampa, Florida manages the aircraft which is operated under Part 91 of the Federal Aviation Regulation. Labor, materials, equipment, special tools and facilities shall be located at the Fixed Base of Operations (FBO) to provide the Government with the most cost effective support package. The Contractor/FBO shall provide, flight crew amenities, scheduled and un-schedules maintenance, avionics, paint and interior, servicing, inspection and repair on an as needed basis. The anticipated performance period is award thru September 30, 2001. The NAICS Code is 488190. This is not a small business set-aside. The government will award a contract based in the availability of funds. Evaluation factors are based on what is most advantage to the Government, price, past performance and quality. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days of it's publication. A solicitation will be issued approximately November 13, 2000. This acquisition is being conducted as a simplified acquisition under the authority of FAR Part 13.
