Description

The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to negotiate two sole source contracts with Lockheed Martin Systems Integration (LMSI) of Owego, NY. The contractor will be responsible for providing materials and services to complete production of a total of 12 systems, incorporate system upgrades, and provide Contractor Logistic Support for the MEWSS PIP during and after fielding. Anticipated period of performance is FY-01 through FY-06 for a total value of $120,000,000. The MEWSS-PIP was developed in cooperation with the U.S. Army's Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Common Sensor (IEWCS) program. The MEWSS-PIP is a suite of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment built into a U.S. Marine Corps Light Armored Vehicle (LAV). It will provide state-of-the-art SIGINT and EW support to the Marine Air Ground Task Force. The MEWSS-PIP was developed to replace the fielded AN/MLQ-36 MEWSS equipment, which is increasingly unsupportable and operationally obsolete. LMSI is the OEM for taking the system from a prototype to a form fit to field. No RFP is available for competitive bidding; however, interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement, to include descriptive literature, within 15 days of this announcement to the contact person listed above.
