- Description
- The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is engaged in a wide range of research and development programs involving enabling/critical electronic components for microwave and millimeter wave frequency applications including next generation radar, avionics and communications, electronic warfare, and smart weapons systems. The NRL has a continuing need for research and development engineering support to assess the major Navy systems applications for these components and develop a plan for producing affordable technologies that are capable of fulfilling present and future Navy needs. NRL will consider proposals submitted by all responsible sources. The work to be performed is in the following technology areas: a) semiconductor substrates and other electronic materials; b) solid state devices, nanoelectronics, and microelectromechanical systems; 3) microwave technologies; 4) vacuum electronics; 5) technology insertion; 6) and special projects and management support. A single cost plus fixed fee level of effort contract is anticipated and performance will be for one year with three-one year options. The research effort will be performed primarily at the Naval Research Laboratory. This procurement will be a follow on to NRL Contract N00014-96-C-2107 awarded to DCS Corporation of Alexandria, VA. Advance versions of key sections for comments may be available prior to release of the RFP. The same advance versions will be provided to all requestors by e-mail, and formal questions after the release of the RFP will be addressed by amendment(s) to the RFP. The solicitation will close 40 days after the issuance date. The NRL URL address below contains a blank Word table for those companies desiring to publish interest in teaming for this RFP. The table should be downloaded, filled-in, and transmitted preferably as a Word attachment, to toledo@contracts.nrl.navy.mil. (The RFP will have a factor for SDB participation.) Any teaming responses will be published at the NRL URL address. NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue RFPs and amendments to RFPs. The solicitation and any amendments to it will be available via the Internet at the URL address shown below. Paper copies of the RFP will not be provided. Numbered Note 26 applies.
