Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS NOR DOES THE GOVERNMENT INTEND TO PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THIS RFI. The Naval Warfare Assessment Station, Corona is seeking potential sources for a Weapons Impact Scoring System for applications at the Navy's Southern California Offshore Range, San Clemente Island. The scope of this RFI may result in the procurement of a commercially available Weapons Impact Scoring System. The scoring system is expected to provide accurate grid and latitude/longitude positions for various inert and live ordnance used on the San Clemente Island impact area. The system should provide scoring results automatically. Scoring results are desired day and night in all weather conditions. Further, the system should be capable of providing the scoring information to various remote control locations across existing ATM/TCPIP networks. Offerors who can provide a scoring system that meets the above performance criteria should, at a minimum, submit the following information: (1) A scoring system description and performance data addressing the desired capabilities; (2) A recommended, map-oriented plan for placement of sensors at the shore bombardment range on San Clemente Island (a diagram of the area is available at http://www.score.net/about/areas.php?page=1); (3) Specification sheets, including photographs, of the proposed equipment; (4) Facilities and utilities requirements the proposed system will require to operate; (5) A concise, columnar listing of all items proposed, including part numbers, nomenclature, quantity, and price; and (5) Any other technical information you believe to be important, including achievable accuracies, other locations already using the offeror's technology, and measurement accuracies they are able to achieve. Proprietary information submitted in response to the synopsis will be protected when clearly identified as proprietary. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT WILL NOT BE MADE, NOR WILL TELEPHONE INQUIRIES BE HONORED. Responses to this RFI must be received in writing no later than COB Pacific Standard Time on 12/29/2000. The information shall be submitted to the Naval Warfare Assessment Station, Attn: Systems Engineering (SE41), PO Box 5000, Corona CA 92878-5000.
