- The NRA will be available electronically on the date of November 7, 2000 via: http://procurement.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/EPS/bizops.cgi Prospective Offerors are requested to submit a Letter of Intent by December 4, 2000 to Ms. Heidi Shaw. The letter should address: Institution or Organization Name; PI and CoPI names and addresses; title of proposal; telephone number; fax number; email address; and a brief summary of what you plan to propose (limit 3000 characters) Notices of intent can either be submitted electronically to: hshaw@grc.nasa.gov, or by facsimile transmission. The fax number is (216) 433-2480. The NASA Glenn Research Center is interested in receiving proposals, solely for grants or cooperative agreements, for Space Power Technology. Participation in this program is specifically open to educational institutions and other nonprofit organizations. Although no specific set-aside is contemplated for HBCUs and other minority institutes, their participation is highly encouraged. It is expected that the Principal Investigator and any co-Principal Investigator(s) will be university or educational institute personnel. A continuing demand exists for revolutionary, breakthrough space power systems and technologies for use in a wide range of advanced vehicles and missions. Proposals are invited for basic research that offer new and creative solutions to technical problems under the area of Space Power Technology. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: Power Management and Distribution Technologies, Photovoltaic Power Systems Technologies, Dynamic Power Systems Technologies, Energy Storage Technologies, Aerospace Flywheels Technologies, Power Systems Environmental Interactions Technologies, and Space Power Systems Durability/Survivability Technologies. NASA anticipates making between 5 and 15 awards as a result of this NRA totalling approximately $1 Million. Questions related to this NRA in the areas of preparation, submission or technical concerns shall be submitted in writing to Ms. Heidi Shaw no later than January 5, 2001. Responses to questions will be posted on the website noted. Proposals must be received on or before January 22, 2001. Proposals received after this date shall be rejected.
