Description

The Navy requires 1 each Thomson Model TV2022B Klystron Tube to be utilized in the Government's Linear Accelerator System (LINAC). This tube provides RF energy to accelerate electrons. The Klystron Tube will be procured on a sole-source basis from Thomson Components and Tubes, Corp, Totowa, NJ in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The tube is proprietary to Thomson and this specific component is required to successfully operate the Government's LINAC. See Notes 22 and 26. This is anticipated to be a Firm Fixed Price contract. The shipping terms will be FOB Crane within 10 months after contract, with final inspection and acceptance at destination. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that shall be considered by the agency. The solicitation will be posted on the NSWC Crane web site at http://www.crane.navy.mil; no hardcopies will be mailed. The solicitation is expected to be posted on or about 8 November 2000.
