Description
The US Postal Service, Denver Facilities Service office, is soliciting qualification statements from contractors desiring to be placed on a prequalified list for new construction leased (NCL) of postal facilities in one or up to a maximum of five (5) states in the western area for a period of three (3) years. NCL is a process in which the successful lessor/contractor completes the design to 100% (from an average of 50% design and specifications provided by the USPS), and constructs the facility within the prescribed time-frame. The USPS will then enter into a long term lease with the lessor, usually for a period of twenty (20) years at a fixed annual rate, with two, five year renewal options. Prequalification of NCL lessors will be accomplished for the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria: a) references; b) general construction experience/project management; c) desing (A/E) team; d) financial capability; and e) company organization. Interested firms must obtain a prequalification package, which will be available at no charge. This package may be obtained upon written request to the following address: Denver Facilities Service Office, U.S. Postal Service, 8055 E Tufts Ave. Suite 400, Denver, CO 80237-2881, Attn: Jae Pak. Submittals must be on, in the exact format of, the Prequalification Forms contained in the prequalification package. Completed package must be received no later than close of business, November 27, 2000. Prequalification statements will be evaluated by a USPS committee, and all firms will be advised within 60 days of receipt of their application as to prequalification status. As projects are identified and approved for implementation, the prequalified contractors will receive instructions on how to acquire a complete solicitation package. This is not a Request for Proposal. Submittals will not be returned. All offerors are encouraged to submit their proposal by one of the methods offered by the U.S. Postal Service (Express Mail, Priority Mail, or First Class Mail).
