Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for general laboratory operation support services for the Semiconductor Electronics Division Microfabrication Processing Facility (MPF). The Contractor shall 1) Troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment, 2) Perform or coordinate internal facility maintenance, 3) Maintain facility safety systems, 4) Manage contracts with equipment or facility contractors, and 5) Provide training in laboratory operations and procedures to NIST personnel. Work shall be performed on-site at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland. The period of performance is one year from date of award. The contractor shall meet the following requirements. The person shall have a strong experience in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of industrial equipment and controls in the following fields: Pneumatic. Electric, Electronic, Air Conditioning, Psychometrics, Industrial Heating Systems controlled by SCR firing circuits, Gas delivery systems using Rotommeter tubes or computer contorted system to deliver gas to furnace tubes by way of mass flow controllers and involving ratio controllers to limit flows at proper ratios. The contractor shall also have a strong knowledge of the operation and repair of the equipment used to make semiconductors. This includes Vaporization Equipment, furnaces to grow oxides, Mask Aligner, Wafer Cutting Saws, Ion Implanter, Reactive Ion Beam Etcher, Scanning Electron Microscopes, R.F. Generators, Wafer Baking Ovens, Nanometrics Wafer Analyzers, Inficon Thickness Monitors, Vacuum Pumps and other types of such equipment. The Contractor shall also have experience in installation of such equipment. All interested responsible small businesses may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. The request shall include information that demonstrates the Contractor is able to meet the requirements above. An award shall be made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures approximately 11/1/00. See Note 1. This requirement is 100% Set-aside for Small Business.
