Description

To provide dockside repairs to the NOAA Ship RAINIER. Repair items include, but are not limited to: Load testing of davits and cranes; HVAC cleaning; Firemain/eductor manifold overhaul; Deck and topside preservation; Bow thruster angle gear drive bearing replacement; Replacement of forward deck hatch; Installation of strainers in evaporator booster heater supply piping; Replacement of steam dryer with electric dryer; Installation of new ceiling panels; MSD SW supply piping repairs; Installation of receptacles on catwalks; Replacement of battery locker; Modification of CPP pitch position transmitters; and Interior modifications to increase computer work space and improve messing arrangement. The ship will be available for ship inspection in Seattle, WA on or about December 4-8, 2000. Place of performance will be Seattle, Washington. Expected period of performance is January 12 -- February 28, 2000. Following are vessel characteristics of the NOAA Ship RAINIER: Welded steel Hull -- 231 feet in length; Breadth -- 42 feet; Draft- 14.3 feet; 1800 ton displacement. This is a 100% small business set-aside.
