Description

The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue Solicitation N00024-01-R-2201 for the acquisition of material to include propulsion equipment, electrical generation and distribution equipment, general construction material, manufacturing aids, advance planning for construction, and detail design effort to support construction of the LHD 8 Amphibious Assault ship. The period of performance will be for two years from award. This will be a modification to Contract N00024-00-C-2217. This solicitation is being issued on a sole source basis to Ingalls Shipbuilding, Incorporated, P. O. Box 149, Pascagoula MS 39568-014 based on their unique knowledge as the sole shipbuilder of the LHD 1 Class ships.
