Description

Provide professional Architect/Engineer services to include preliminary services and phasing recommendations, planning, consultations and visits, design work, asbestos abatement planes, preparation of contract drawings and specifications, preparation of cost estimates and construction period services as necessary for asbestos abatement, demolition, site preparation, construction, inspection, testing and certification for Project 544-01-900 "Additional Parking Building 100" at WJB Dorn Veterans' Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. The intent of this project is to provide design for additional patient parking in the vicinity of Building 100. The design will address the location, layout and affect of site conditions with the addition of this additional parking. The design will address all phases, site preparation, a plan for the temporary rerouting of vehicular traffic, construction, inspection, soil and material testing. The design shall ensure compliance with current VA standards and all other applicable codes and criteria. Value engineering is encouraged and shall be noted at each design review. Submissions and estimates are expected at the conceptual, 50% and 100% design stages. Construction cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. A/E will be required to provide evidence of professional liability insurance of $1,000,000.00. A/E firm must be located within 150 mile radius of work site to be considered. Interested firms desiring consideration shall submit appropriate data in numbered Note 24 to the Contracting Officer (90C), A&FP Service, WJB Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical, 6439 Garners Ferry Lane, Columbia, SC 29209 not later than November 20, 2000. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Award is subject to the availability of FY 2001 funds. This is a 100% Set-Aside for Emerging Small Business Concerns. An Emerging Small Business means a small business concern whose size is no greater than 50 percent of the numerical size standard applicable to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned. The NAICS code assigned to this project is 541310. See numbered Note 24.
