On Wednesday, December 13, 2000 Agriculture Research Services (ARS) will be hosting a Winter Technology Exposition at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Carver Center. The Chief of Information Technology Division within ARS is our sponsor. ARS has more personnel in the Carver Center than any other group. Carver Center is a new facility containing roughly 1,200 personnel, so high attendance is expected. This event will be promoted to the USDA HQ, USDA/Carver Center, REE, ARS, CSB, Beltsville Agriculture Research Center (BARC) and the U.S. Arboretum. Also the National Agriculture Library, a 15-story building with computers and other modern techniques which provides to researchers, technicians, and the general public. Other USDA agencies with offices at BARC: Agriculture Marketing Service, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Federal Grain Inspection Service, Environmental Protection Agency and the Food and Drug Administration.
