NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ)011-81861-709 for Item 1 -- 1 lot HWODZ CI HAYSTACK LOGISTICS SUPPORT SERVICE; Item 2 -- 1 lot ML79X CI Department of Defense Direct IVES Service; Item 3 -- 1 lot DP3M CW Department of Defense Standard Service Index only on CD-ROM for Windows with Outlines; Item 4 -- 1 lot DS528 CW Department of Defense Adopted Industry Standards Service complete on CD-ROM for Windows with updating service. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Information Handling Services, Inc., 15 Inverness Way East, Englewood, CO 80112. IHS is the only proprietary supplier of comprehensive products in internet capability which allows you to locate and screen vendor product information, services and engineering data from over 26,000 manufacturers, U.S. Military Specifications Naval Instructions and Directives/DOD Instructions and Directives, Commercial Standards (over 60 Societies-Full Text), and DOD Adopted Industry Standards with a Proprietary Locator Code. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 10-30-00. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
