Description
The US Postal Service is seeking Architect and Engineering services for the USPS Western New York District's area of responsibility, which is in the areas of Buffalo, Elmira, Ithaca, Jamestown, Rochester or those areas with zip codes beginning with 140-149. The services will consist of general architectural and engineering for repair and alteration projects; site adaptation and construction administration for SSBDs (Small Standard Building Designs) for facilities between 1,000-8,000 square feet. The contract will be subject to negotiation of individual work orders for services for each task. In each instance, total fees for services will not exceed $250,000 for each task. The contract term will be for two years with three 1-year renewal options, which can bring the duration of the contract to five years. The amount of work for the duration of the contract (5 years) shall not exceed $2,500,000. There is no guaranteed minimum. The work order estimates range from $2,000 to $10,000. The USPS reserves the right to select more than one firm. Firms which possess the qualifications to perform the services described are invited to submit a completed SF255, Architect-Engineer Questionnaire for a Specific Project, and a SF254, Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire to the office above no later than Tuesday, November 14, 2000, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Selection criteria will be conducted with combined use of SF254 and SF255. Interested firms with more than one office should indicate of their SF254 and SF255 the staffing composition of the office in which the work will be performed. Firms, including consultants, must meet the following requirements: 1) licensed architect registered in the State of New York; 2) licensed mechanical and electrical engineer registered in the state of New York. Consideration will be given to interested firms according to the following order of preference: 1) Local, residing in the NY areas of Buffalo, Elmira, Ithaca, Jamestown, Rochester, or areas with zip codes beginning with 140-149; 2) State of New York; 3) All others. Architectural/Engineering firms will be considered as local only if their sole office is within the geographical area indicated, or they have a local branch office and if all the architectural design, coordination and management of the project will be accomplished in that office. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage or brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon, or resulting from award of a contract.
