Description

NASA/GSFC announces the release of the draft solicitation for the anticipated follow-on to NASA's Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement (SEWP). SEWP contracts offer state-of-the-art computer system technologies, high-end scientific and engineering processing capabilities, peripherals, and network equipment The Draft Request For Proposal (DRFP) is issued to solicit industry's comments on all aspects of the solicitation, including specifications, benchmarks, schedules, proposal instructions, terms and conditions and evaluation approaches. The use of industry comments to structure the final RFP is at the discretion of the Government. In accordance with FAR 52.215-3, Request for information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (OCT 1997), the Government does not intend to award a contact on the basis of the Draft RFP, or to otherwise pay for information solicited. The draft solicitation (DRFP5-51953-026) documents are posted on the World-Wide Wed (WWW) at the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS), the Commerce Business Daily CBDNet and SEWP III web: http://sewpiii.sewp.nasa.gov . The documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite 97 versions of MS Word and Excel, and may be accessed using a WWW browser application. All potential offerors are requested to submit their comments and questions no later than two weeks after the posted date of the draft solicitation. Questions and comments must be made using the SEWP III Web Comment Collector located at http://sewpiii.sewp.nasa.gov Registration at the SEWP III Web is necessary to use the SEWP III Web Collector. Comments / questions received from any other source will not be responded to by the Government. The Government's responses will be posted at SEWP III Web. It is anticipated that SEWP III will award commercial IDIQ contracts for 9 Computer Systems/Servers classes in a full and open competition and 5 Supporting Equipment classes in both full and open and small business set-asides. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 5045 and 100 employees, respectively. Interested parties are responsible to monitor the aforementioned Internet sites for release of all documents and announcements, including the subsequent final RFP, and are responsible for downloading their own copies of all documents.
