Description

The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals to provide all labor, materials and equipment to install a security access control system and a security camera system at the Bridgeport, CT P&DF. The estimated cost of the work is between $300,000.00 and $500,000.00, with completion within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Sealed offers will be received in this office prior to, but no later than, 4:00 p.m. on November 10, 2000. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer, or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until award of contract is made. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available o/a October 12, 2000 at a cost of $50.00 per set (non-refundable) from the Facilities Service Office, U. S. Postal Service, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Only certified checks or money orders will be accepted, made payable to the Disbursing Officer, U. S. Postal Service (Reference Solicitation No. 082530-01-A-0003). Plans may be inspected at the issuing office and information regarding their availability may be obtained by contacting Catherine Delasco at (860) 285-7191. Questions concerning the technical aspects of the proposal should be directed to Michael F. There will be a preproposal conference for this project on Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in the maintenance manager's office at the Bridgeport P&DF at 120 Middle St. Prospective offerors are encouraged to attend. Offerors wishing to visit the site at a time other than the preproposal conference may contact Sheldon Cooper, Maintenance Manager, at (203) 332-5380. Proposals will be evaluated on 1) price; & 2) company environmental health and safety plan, which must be submitted with the proposal. Work shall not begin on site until January 2, 2001. A project-specific safety plan must be submitted by the successful offeror before award. Guidelines for other project requirements are outlined in the specifications. The successful offeror will be required to submit a 100% performance bond and 100% payment bond before award of contract is made. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required.
