Description

The Pacific Southwest Region of the USDA Forest Service, intends to contract for the services of twin-engine, high-wing, light aircraft to be a platform for Air Tactical Group Supervisors conducting wildland fire reconnaissance and directing aerial incident management activities. Six aircraft will be required, which will be located in California at San Bernardino, Lancaster, Santa Barbara, Fresno, Fort Jones, and Chester. Each aircraft will be rented, with pilot, for approximately 150 days per year. This period will generally run during late Spring through early Fall. In prior years, the types of aircraft rented have been the Aero Commander 500 and the Cessna 337. Consideration is now being given to going to turbine aircraft such as the Aero Commander 690T, or equal. Interested potential contractors are requested to contact the Contracting Officer.*****
