- Description
- The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with the University of California-Riverside, Riverside, California 92521, for additional work under Purchase Order 9D-1000-NAEX. The Contractor shall demonstrate the Development of Protocol for Comparison and Analysis of Chemical Mechanism Performance through additional intercomparisons of chemical mechanisms to include: CB4 vs. CB4-99, CB4 vs. CBMZ, CBMz vs. CB4-99, and RADM vs. RACM. Contractor shall document the results of these intercomparisons in a final report, in a format suitable for submission to a journal. Once this task is within one month of completion, contractor shall travel to Research Triangle Park, North Carolina for 3 days to present the results of these mechanism intercomparisons to EPA scientists through both a 2 hour seminar and informal meetings with individual scientists. Contractor shall prepare recommendations of mechanisms to use in upcoming releases of EPA's Models3/CMAQ modeling system, and include them as part of the final documentation. In addition, the final documentation shall also contain recommendations of mechanisms to use in upcoming releases of EPA's Models3/CMAQ modeling system, based on the comparisons between CB4 and CB4-99, between CB4 and CBMZ, between CBMz and CB4-99, as well as between RADM and RACM. All interested parties who believe they can provide the required services should fully explain their capabilities in writing within 15 days of the date of this announcement. No Solicitation is available. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any additional source(s) exist and, therefore, no Request For Proposal (RFP) is available. Consequently, any responses(s) failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFP will be ignored. Submit response to the U. S. EPA, Attn: Barbara R. Nelson (MD-33), Contracts Management Division, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711. No telephonic or faxed requests will be honored.
