Description
The work involves the following: (1) Replacement of existing HVAC system in Buildings Nos. 1604, 4114, 5558, and 7150. Interior demolition/replacement of fan coil units, ducts, cooling towers, interior and exterior finishes, etc. The work also involves complete renovation of the plumbing water and natural gas distribution systems and upgrading of the electrical system. (2) Asbestos/lead abatement during demolition work as identified in the specifications. This work shall be performed at the Turner Job Corps Center in Albany, GA. The construction completion date is estimated to be 147 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost range for construction is $500,000 to $1 Million. Plans and specifications will be available on or about October 23, 2000, only from the Architect/Engineering firm of Harrison and Spencer, Inc., 501 E. Hillcrest Industrial Boulevard, Macon, GA. It is emphasized that requests for Plans and Specifications should be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. All requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for November 8, 2000, at 2:00 P.M. local time. Bid opening date is November 30, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. local time. The NAICS Code for this project is 23110 with a size standard of $11.5 million. See Numbered Note(s): 1.
