Description

17. This is a solicitation for the acquisition of commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12. Solicitation number USSS01 0001 will be issued as a request for proposals. The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) has a requirement for the installation and removal of approximately 350 linear feet of twelve (12) foot concrete J-J hook concrete barricades to secure the Inaugural Parade route at approximately thirty-two (32) locations between the White House and United State Capitol. All work, including the installation and removal of the barricades will be completed on the day of the Inaugural Parade on January 20, 2001. For effective mobilization and demobilization in the event of inclement weather on the day of the Inaugural the contractor must be located within a seventy (70) mile radius of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The details for installing and removing the temporary concrete barricades are more particularly described in the scope of work. The contract period of performance will be for a one-day period on January 20, 2001. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract, to the offeror with an acceptable past performance record and whose technically acceptable proposal is the most price advantageous to the Government. Firms interested in receiving a copy of the solicitation must respond in writing. Telephone requests for copies of the solicitation will not be accepted. The estimated solicitation issue date is October 13, 2000.
