Description
17. The Department of State (DTS-PO), Fairfax Center, VA is conducting a market survey to determine if manufacturers or suppliers exist to provide bid samples for the following uninterrupted power systems. The supplies are as follows: a. Three different sized uninterrupted power system units. The sizes are 1KVA, 2KVA and 3KVA. The three different units are desired to be from the same vendor "family" or "single model series". b. The input voltage and frequency of each of the units must be: 47 -- 63 HZ (50/60 HZ compatibility); operate from 90 -- 250 VAC input via Auto sensing or switched. Must be UL/TUV approved. c. The output voltage and frequency of each of the units must be: 120VAC (+/-) 3% true sine wave, max 5% THD with full non-linear load; 47-63 HZ (+/-) 3%. d. The output neutral to ground must be less than 0.5 volts at full output load. e. Each of the units must have true input to output isolation (e.g. input AC converted to DC then converted to an output AC). The transfer time to battery must be "uninterrupted". f. Each unit must have a reserve time of 15 minutes at full load and the main chassis must not weigh more than 140 pounds. If external batteries are required to fulfill the 15 minute reserve time, they are not counted in the 140 pounds but must be replaceable by one person within 15 minutes. g. Each unit must be rack mountable. 19" wide (fit Standard 19-inch wide rack). Maximum of 24 inches deep (excluding any protrusions from front panel). Front panel protrusions must not exceed 2 inches. Maximum of 5 EIA Rack units high; exclusive of any external batteries. Bid samples shall be evaluated by the Department of State as: A. Acceptable B. Reasonably susceptible of being made acceptable C. Unacceptable The government will conduct test to determine the compatibilty and operativeness of the power sources. Parameters for evaluation will consist of battery, electrical, environmental and mechanical. All power systems that meet government requirements will be determined to be acceptable. Ship bid samples to: Anthony Shields, 3920 Pender Drive, Fairfax Center, VA 22030. Bid samples must be plainly marked with the solicitation number and arrive in the mailroom located at 3920 Pender Drive, Fairfax Center, VA 22030 no later than 10:00 AM on October 27, 2000. No award will be made solely on the basis of this notice since a synopsis of intent is to determine suppliers or manufacturers. Pricing data is not requested at this time. Pricing will be requested from acceptable offerors. A solicitation will be issued if acceptable bid samples are received. Delivery should be 15 days after the publication date of this synopsis.
