- Description
- SPECIFICATION FOR ALUMINUM CLEANING -- MAIN JUSTICE BUILDING (1.) This work consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, materials and equipment to clean and the aluminum base of two staircases in the Main Justice Building located between Ninth and Tenth Streets, and Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. All work involved in this project will be performed in accordance with the aluminum cleaning specification in the "Historic Structures Report" for the Main Justice Building. The aluminum cleaning specification will be distributed at the walk thru. (2.) Bidder's submittal package must include a detailed cost quotation, description of previous experience on at least three similar projects which were a minimum of $25,000. And the names, addresses and current telephone numbers of at least three references. (3.) The aluminum cleaning will take place in occupied space. (4.) The work in this area can be done between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. If it is determined that the fumes from the cleaning products are noxious, then contractor will have to make arrangements with the COTR to do this cleaning after business hours. (5.) The contractor is required to properly vent his/her work area making use of fans and the existing windows. (6.) All surrounding surfaces (floors, ceilings, artwork, etc) shall be protected. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to protect the environment from damage. The cost of any damage will be the responsibility of the contractor. (7.) A mandatory site visit is scheduled for October 23, 2000 at 1:00 PM. We will meet at the center Pennsylvania Avenue entrance of the Main Justice Building located between 9th and 10th Street Pennsylvania Avenue. Please provide a list of attendees and your company name indicating your intent to attend this meeting via fax by noon, on October 19, 2000. Please address your fax to Ms. Rhame on 202.307.1915. (8.) The Main Justice Building is a secure facility. The successful contractor will be required to submit the names, dates of birth, and social security numbers of their staff prior to gaining access to the facility. No on-site parking will be provided, although contractor(s) will have limited access to the building to offload supplies. (9.) Work under this contract is covered under the Davis-Bacon Act. Prevailing wages must be paid. (10.) Quotes are due by close of business on November 6, 2000.*****
