Description

GSA is announcing its intent to issue a procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The contract will be a fixed price effort to provide information technology support in support of the installation and test of a projection system and video teleconference system for the USTRANSCOM. Services include technical solution, equipment installation, maintenance, telecommunications and ancillary facility modifications to integrate the complete solution within an occupied facility. Use of VMI Company of St. Louis, a small business, has been determined essential to the Government's requirements, due to their extensive experience with the USTRANSCOM mission requirements and expertise regarding projection/video teleconferencing solutions. No other service provider is capable of immediately providing comparable technical and engineering expertise to meet the service requirements and required delivery of 31 December 2000. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is a Request for Quotation, reference Number 5TS5701C007. NAICS Code 541330, Other Specialized Design Services, applies. Size standard is $5.0 million. This requirement is for an integrated projection and video teleconference design/installation within a network operations and security center. Period of performance is anticipated to be October 2000 through December 2000. FAR 52.252-2 applies to this acquisition.
