Description

Provide professional Architect/Engineer services to include preliminary services and phasing recommendations, planning, consultations and visits, design work, asbestos abatement planes, preparation of contract drawings and specifications, preparation of cost estimates and construction period services as necessary for asbestos abatement, demolition, construction, inspection, testing and certification for Project 544-01-122 "Replace Roofs Phase II" at WJB Dorn Veterans' Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. The intent of this project is to provide design for replacement and repair of specified sections of the roofs of Buildings 20, 105, 5 and 8. The design will address all phases of demolition, minor repair of roofing structures, flashing and sheet metal, gutters and down spouts. The design shall ensure compliance with current VA standards and all other applicable codes and criteria. Value engineering is encouraged and shall be noted at each design review. Submissions and estimates are expected at the conceptual, 50% and 100% design stages. Construction cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. A/E will be required to provide evidence of professional liability insurance of $1,000,000.00. A/E firm must be located within 150 mile radius of work site to be considered. Interested firms desiring consideration shall submit appropriate data in numbered Note 24 to the Contracting Officer (90C), A&FP Service, WJB Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical, 6439 Garners Ferry Lane, Columbia, SC 29209 not later than November 9, 2000. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Award is subject to the availability of FY 2001 funds. This is a 100% Set-Aside for Emerging Small Business Concerns. An Emerging Small Business means a small business concern whose size is no greater than 50 percent of the numerical size standard applicable to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned. The NAICS code assigned to this project is 541310. See numbered Note 24.
