Description

Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has a requirement for Support of the day-to-day operations of the MISNET Local Area Network (LAN) and associated servers in conjunction with the Management Information System Staff of NRL, Washington, DC. The contractor serves as NT Administrator, configuring the MISNET network as necessary. Contractor analyzes, studies, and designs TCP/IP networks and systems; as well as works with Internet protocols, gateways, firewalls, routers, switches, servers, clients, streaming, messaging, transactions, and database backends. Contractor analyses network characteristics (e.g. traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommends procurement, removals, and modifications to network components. The contractor will install, configure, support and test NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 clients on the MISNET network as required. Requirements exist for further development and/or modification to the MISNET network infrastructure. Strong background and extensive experience with the MISNET and in information systems relating to current infrastructure is required. All infrastructure changes are under the guidance of NT Program requirements. Firms are invited to submit appropriate documentation and references to support that they possess the required experience and expertise to provide the services stated above. The Government intends to make a single award that is responsible and most advantageous to the Government considering price and related factors. "See Note(s) 1."
