Description
Pursuant to FAR 19.5, the Peace Corps is soliciting proposals from small businesses to manage its medical records facility. This competition amongst small businesses will be conducted under the guidance of FAR Parts 12 and 15. The Peace Corps seeks a medical records management vendor to: -- Operate and manage the functions associated with the Medical Records Unit; -- Provide support services for receptionist/clerical functions; -- Maintain the Health Records of Applicants, of certain Active Volunteers, and of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (including workers' compensation files for those who have filed claims); -- Respond to inquiries for health record information; and -- Maintain a health records quality assurance program. Peace Corps is especially committed to doing no harm, to acting in good faith, and to preserving its reputation as an agent of good will in the eyes of its Applicants, Active Volunteers and RPCVs, and of the American Public. The Contractor, therefore, shall provide high quality, responsive, and timely medical records management services in a manner that preserves Peace Corps' harmonious relationship with those who access services provided under this contract. Requirements of the Contractor: Operate the Medical Records Unit The Contractor shall operate a Medical Records Unit located at Peace Corps Office of Medical Services in Washington, DC between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, on all scheduled federal work days. The Contractor shall provide sufficient, qualified personnel to assure the efficient and effective operation of the Medical Records Unit. The number of personnel shall be proposed by the Contractor and established at the time of contract award. Peace Corps reserves the right of refusal with regard to proposed personnel. The NAICS code for this procurement is 56121. The RFP is anticipated to be released on October 24, 2000. All requests for the RFP shall be in writing and shall provide the prospective Offeror's phone and fax numbers, email address, and a statement verifying that they are a small business and thus eligible to compete for award. Electronic transmission shall be the preferred method of distribution of this RFP. Hard copies of the RFP will be distributed only upon specific written request. All questions related to the RFP itself must be received in writing no later than November 15, 2000 in order to receive a response prior to the closing date of November 30, 2000. See Numbered Note #1.
