- Description
- The Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS) Program Office intends to acquire through contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation, Air Combat Systems (ACS), One Hornet Way, El Segundo, CA, 90245-2804, the design of a MP-RTIP Radar that will be integratable on multiple US platforms and suitable for use by NATO. The scope of this contract will be for the design of a modular, scalable MP-RTIP Radar, and development, fabrication, and test of MP-RTIP Radars suitable for future integration on airborne platforms to include Global Hawk, NATAR, and a Wide Area Surveillance (WAS) platform. This contract does not provide for integration of the MP-RTIP Radars on specific platforms. The MP-RTIP 2D-AESA Sensor forms the basis for the advanced technology, state-of-the-art airborne ground surveillance radars. The Government intends to award this contract on a sole source basis to Northrop Grumman Corp. The Joint STARS Program Office anticipates contract award in Dec 2000. Offerors will be provided 30 days to respond to the solicitation. An Acquisition Ombudsman, Colonel Joseph B. Magnone, Director, Commander's Staff, has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during proposal development. You should only contact the Ombudsman with issues or problems you cannot satisfactorily resolve with the program manager and/or contracting officer. The Ombudsman role is to hear concerns, issues, and recommendations and communicate these to the appropriate government personnel. The Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality if desired.
