Description
NSN 6135-00-437-5182AH, SE-437A Battery; P/N 7327689 1. Hill Air Force Base is currently seeking interested sources to manufacture silver-zinc batteries in support of the ICBM Minuteman Weapon System. The government will be issuing a solicitation on/or about 1 April 2001 to procure the SE-437A, Minuteman II Guidance and Control Battery. The government's requirement is as follows: a. DESCRIPTION: SE-437A Battery; NSN 6135-00-437-5182AH, P/N 7327689 b. 20 each, pre-production models are required if the battery has not been built within the past three years; and, once tested and approved; c. 360 production units with deliveries of 120 batteries per year over a three year period. d. Future follow on requirements is 120 batteries per year for two years. e. Submission of pre-production testing data and lot acceptance data. f. Silver will be furnished as Government Furnished Material. g. Government owned tooling located at Crane Naval will be provided in an "as is" condition. The items, condition, or quantity are unknown. The contractor would need to manufacture or procure new tooling as necessary. The property is boxed and is available for inspection if requested. 3. An additional procurement is anticipated to be made in 2002 for the SE-13G Battery, in support of the Minuteman II Guidance and Control system. This requirement is also for a quantity of 600 batteries, plus a pre-production requirement of 20 units. Interest in this battery was generated in a sources sought synopsis on Solicitation F42610-98-R-BBBBD. All contractors qualified for battery SE-437A will also be considered qualified on battery SE-13G. 4. All interested sources must pre-qualify at their own expense by manufacturing and testing the SE-437A Battery per data provided by CR and testing requirement per the specification ME-PD-73-10B dated 8 June 1983. Those companies completing acceptable units will become an approved source for this procurement and all future battery requirements for both the SE-437A and SE-13G. Successful completion of pre-qualification would waive the requirements of 2b above; however, the 20 pre-production units for SE-13G would be required as part of future solicitation requirements. 5. The current solicitation is being held until 1 April 2001 to allow interested sources the opportunity to qualify. If no interest is expressed to pre-qualify, the solicitation will be issued immediately.
